Cultivating exercise habits is very helpful for health, but at which time of 1 day is the most beneficial? Research published in Nature Communications found that afternoon exercise can reduce the risk of premature death due to heart disease.

Researcher study said the research team conducted a study of 92,139 British Biobank participants, subgrouped the data based on the movement time and frequency of the participants, and checked the 7-day activity data of the participants, and tracked their mortality records.

Study found that moderate to intense exercise at any time of the day can reduce the risk of all-cause disease, cardiovascular disease and cancer mortality; however, people who run between noon and afternoon have lower death risks, and are quite obvious.

Research team pointed out that participants benefited the most from the movement between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. This effect was mainly observed in men, the elderly, and people with less exercise; researchers also observed that periods are the time when people are least likely to have heart disease.

Dr. Randy Goodroe, an interventional cardiac expert at the Grand Strand Heart and Vascular Care Center in Mertre Beach, South Carolina, explained that more heart disease occurs in the morning, especially from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., because the platelets in this period are more viscous and the increased penile epinephrine release from the kidneys may cause higher risks of coronary plaque rupture. The

research team also pointed out that those who exercised in the evening or outside the afternoon often had shorter sleep times; in addition, participants in early-rising groups received less education than other groups in the study. Before this study, a different study found that for weight loss, the best time to exercise is in the morning, because this is the best time to promote fat reproduction, and high intensity exercise in the morning can help with weight loss.
