According to Sky Sports reporters Rob Dorset and Liar Thomas, in-depth negotiations about Robert Edwards becoming Middlesbrough’s new head coach are underway. Edwards, 42, left Luton in January and is now the leader in succession to Carrick.
It is reported that Edwards has rejected invitations from other clubs, including Bristol City.
In the 2022/23 season, Edwards' first season as head coach, he led Luton to the Premier League.
Edwards was one of the three main candidates for the Meeburg Expedition, with the other two being Steve Cooper and Danny Roll.
