According to the Daily Mail, although they lost all the first four rounds of the new season, Wolves coach Pereira still gained the trust of the club, and the contract renewal negotiations between the two sides have entered the later stage.

In December last year, Pereira joined Wolves and signed an 18-month contract, which means his current contract will expire after the end of this season. Wolves are said to offer Pereira a longer and richer contract than last year's joining period, which is a recognition of his leading team to relegation last season.

Wolves ranked 19th in the Premier League when Pereira replaced Gary O'Neal, only two of the first 16 rounds of the Premier League. However, at the end of the season, Wolves eventually ranked 16th in the standings, leading the relegation zone by 17 points. Pereira's credit was self-evident, leading the team to 10 victories and three draws in 22 games.
