German national team coach Nagelsmann originally planned to recruit Phil Kruger for the World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland, but the fans' favorite was injured again.
Nagelsmann explained to ARD TV before the game that Phil Kruger suffered a torn muscle fiber bundle in his thigh during training with his club West Ham United.
Due to the injury of Stuttgart player Jami Llewellyn (adductor problem), Nagelsmann has recruited Brentford attacker Kevin Schad as a replacement this week.
This means that Phil Kruger is likely to also miss Germany's international matches against Luxembourg and Slovakia in November.
