GIVEMESPORT sources revealed that Manchester United coach Amorin is eager to increase his transfer budget before heading to the United States for a preseason tour and hopes that Juventus can formally offer a marginalized Sancho in the next few days.
The Red Devils have invested a lot of money after the summer transfer window opened, and Brazilian striker Cunha joined from Wolves for £62.5 million. However, the team still hopes to show further ambitions in the market. Sancho has failed to win the trust of fans since his transfer from Dortmund for £73 million in July 2021, and Amorin has listed him as one of the players he hopes to sell to raise more money to bring in new players.
According to GMS sources, Manchester United hopes European giant Juventus can make an offer to Sancho this week as the team hopes to complete a major transfer before the United States' match against West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton. The England international is one of Manchester United's highest-paid players, which has left club executives eager to remove him from their payroll.
GMS sources said Manchester United knew Juventus' interest in Sancho, who performed well during the 2024/25 season and won the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils hope that the Serie A giants can make official offers. Although Sancho was praised by Maresca at Stamford Bridge, Amorin did not view him as a core member of the team. Manchester United are willing to hear the offer, as his departure will help bring in more new players before the transfer window closes on September 1.
GMS sources also said Sancho is not the only big-name player who is likely to leave the team. Barcelona are still chasing Rashford, but the La Liga champion insists on talking only on loan deals to test whether Manchester United will compromise. While Manchester United prefers permanent transfers, they have not found a buyer willing to match Rashford's value after Aston Villa gave up exercising the £40 million buyout clause.
GMS sources said Manchester United remain optimistic that they can sell Anthony before the Premier League opening game against Arsenal on August 17 and are looking for buyers behind the scenes to buy out of favor Garnacho and Hoylen. GMS recently revealed that Manchester United could lower the asking price to around £15m due to desperate desire to send Sancho away, but they must be patient as Juventus is still weighing whether to complete the deal.
